Consumer Awareness?

I'm a past patient of West End Orthopaedics Clinic. I've developed this site to help others prevent a billing problem I had with WEOC. After visiting the clinic for a torn medial collateral ligament, I was told I needed a brace and was fitted with a BREG HEX elbow brace. A month later, I received a bill that included a $410 charge for the brace. After researching the actual cost of the brace, I realized it can be purchased for around $175 from any online brace store. I contacted West End Orthopaedic Center numerous times concerning this charge and was finally told that the problem was a "Consumer Awareness" issue. Basically, I was dumb enough not to ask the price, so they were justified in charging 250% more than the brace's worth. So, if you are visiting WEOC and think you may need a brace, check the prices out at The Brace Shop first.
